Casa Luz was the perfect house for our vacation. It has plenty of room for a big family and we loved having a private pool overlooking the jungle. We even got to watch the monkeys playing from the back porch. You feel like you are sitting in the middle of the jungle, but in reality you are very close to restaurants and stores. It was a very convenient location. Sabrina was so much help in getting all of our activities planned. This is a great place to stay and everyone was so friendly and helpful through the whole booking process. We can't wait to visit Casa Luz again!
Just like home! Clean, comfortable, and every amenity you would want. Awesome views and barbque area. You can sit on the back deck or poolside and watch the monkeys swing through the canopies. Convenient and like 5-10 minutes to Manuel Antonio beachs or Pez Vela Marina. Corner store walking distance and is gated for privacy! Very nice and priced accordingly... Recommended to anyone coming to the Quepos area
This house certainly did not fail to impress. From the moment we walked though the doors and met our Concierge Mefi and our chef Ivan with the 180 degree view of the Costa Rican jungle behind them, we knew it was going to be a great week.
The house was exactly as described and shown in the photos and it was kept very clean throughout the week thanks to the daily cleaning service. The best part was the large downstairs room which was great for our 3 teenage sons.
The care and attention provided to use by Mefi was incredible and he was always available to answer any questions and to assist us with our activities, both before and during the trip. Some of our favourite activities were the zip-lining (and don't forget to try the Superman), the waterfall tour (very long day with lots of driving), and the catamaran tour at sunset (we saw lots of dolphins). Spending a day at the beach was also great fun and the kids tried surfing thanks to the experts at Mary's Rentals.
The week would not have been the same without Chef Ivan as he made the week so easy for us. He made us several breakfasts and dinners, and in addition to doing all of the shopping, he cleaned-up afterwards. This meant we had lots of extra time to sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of the jungle while enjoying a drink with the family on the deck. His meals are big but so tasty!! If you are looking for a lunch place, try Lambretta's pizza which offers superb views over Manuel Antonio - my boys snuck back for an extra lunch there!!
We did see some of the anticipated animals, such as the toucans and birds, but not as many as we had anticipated so if you expect to see animals, I would highly encourage going on some of the activities.
The trip ended with the sighting of a group of the smaller monkeys playing around in the trees over the driveway. This was a perfect ending to a fabulous trip. We hope to be back!!
Right after our arrival and meeting up with Mefi our personal concierge and vacation coordinator, a family of 10 white face monkeys came over by the pool to welcome us 🙂 what an unforgettable experience.
We loved the house, hanging out by the pool with a jungle backyard is priceless. We were very excited about this trip and god knows how much we enjoyed it. Only 1 day of rain which actually we really enjoyed just hanging out at the villa. There are so many windows at the villa that you don't really need lights (until is really dark of course) we loved the details and the gardens were well maintain. Mefi is also amazing and we took every piece of advise he shared with us. Please trust him, he knows the area and the best tours in town, believe me 🙂
Just can't say enough about this place. We saw more wildlife on our back deck than on any tour, hike, or beach adventure. Sipping a margarita and watching a momma and baby sloth hang and eat was amazing. Lots of monkeys and huge iguanas also live in the trees. The pool was a lovely way to keep cool on hotter days when we didn't feel like going to the beach.
The whole team who keeps the house beautiful and comfortable was great. We will be going back to this place every chance we get.
I booked this home for my family gathering consisting of 4 adults and 3 children. I was hopeful, yet a little nervous about my choice, but everything exceeded my expectations. The home is very pretty, well appointed, everything in good condition, and our family was really pleased. The staff (Mefli) in charge of our check in and stay was very attentive, and stayed in touch with us as we made our way from San Jose to the area. We loved the location with the rear opening directly next the jungle forest, and had quite a few wildlife experiences from the back patio- toucans and monkeys.. We did experience having no hot water due to a short, but this was responded to promptly and fairly.
While there, we hired our own guide with a scope to do a hike in the Park, and would definitely recommend this- we saw sloths, two kinds of monkeys, etc., and learned so much than if we had just walked on our own. We also enjoyed the experience of the nearby "le Avion" plane restaurant.
Would definitely return if ever on a future trip to the Manual Antonio area. A happy choice!
We absolutely loved our time here.. the home is beautiful and has everything you could ever need! Including Netflix 🙂 And so much more.. having Esmeralda help with dishes and our personal laundry was the icing on the cake.. thank you! We abolsutely loved the balcony area with views of the jungle and saw numerous birds , including 3 toucons during our stay.. the monkeys were regular visitors As well!! I woke up one morning to the sight of about 20 squirrel monkeys playing on the giant tree next to the house! Absolutely loved everything.. my only negative feedback was about how rigid concierge staff .. we were driving from the Opposite coast (Tortuguero) to Manuel Antonio and had kept the team posted of our progress throughout the drive but they still charged us $50 for being 10 mins late.. 8:10 .. I own rental property too and would have expected some empathy and flexibility in this situation..especially since it was soooo close to the cutoff time and we had been driving all day.. also we got a very curt response about checking out latest by 9:45 AM.. no questions asked about whether we Need some more time. Just out of courtesy if nothing else. so a disappointment on the hospitality and warmth front! Everything else is absolutely perfect!!
This was our last stay of our 11 week stay stay in CR. This home has all the conveniences of a home in the US - which is not what you get with many home stays in CR. The communication was flawless with the agency. The home/pool was spotless and was kept spotless by the maid – this is very important as living in the jungle can mean lots of ants and other pests in your home if not kept clean. She also did some laundry for us.
This home is on 3 levels so plenty of room to spread out – Lower level has pool deck and a large bedroom and full bath. Mid level has the big living area/another deck with huge windows overlooking the jungle – open space for dining/kitchen/TV area and ½ bath. Perfect space for large parties to gather to cook and relax. Big beautiful wood kitchen table as well as seating around the kitchen island. No issues with drinking the water. Top floor has two full bedrooms with each having their own full bathroom. The A/C worked well on all floors (plus no mildew smell as you can get in the tropics)), as did the ceiling fans. Steep circular steps to get to third level – but no issues for us (kids. elderly?). The home has plenty of windows that allow you to view the animals that you will surely see, like we did – monkeys, sloths, toucans, macaws and more. Plus good ventilation. Stable wifi is just fast enough to stream Netflix/Amazon.
Modern kitchen with plenty of glassware/utensils/cookware for a 10+ guests – plenty of hot water. Plus a large outdoor propane grill. Mefi the concierge was always available to answer questions or help with anything – and asset that will help you plan your vacation. Very secure with electronic gate, safe and alarm system – but also in a nice safe local area – walkable to some of the local restaurants and stores – but an easy 5-minute drive to best beaches. Would stay here again.
Our families - four parents and four kids ranging I age from 8 to 12 - had an amazing stay in this house. It had everything we needed. The kitchen was well stocked, the downstairs was a perfect kids’ hangout, there was a little market only a block away, and we saw monkeys and toucans from the pool! I would highly recommend this house, thank you for a wonderful time!
We would highly recommend this property. We stayed here with my parents and our 3 children ages 5, 5 and 8. The location was fantastic. We enjoyed being in the jungle with proximity to the beaches and Manuel Antonio. The concierge, Mefi, truly exceeded our expectations in the help he provided with travel, excursions and anything that popped up. He took all the stress of planning and logistics which we really appreciated.
